NCES Report: Two Key Changes
Doubling of the number of degree and certificates programs that are now offered.
Growth in institutions offering distance education courses was from about 33 % to 44%,
Growth primarily in offered distance education courses, rather than complete programs.
Percentage of institutions using “asynchronous Internet-based technologies” almost tripled from 22% to 60% of institutions
