NCES Report: Tuition Policies

• Policies for charging fees and tuition for distance education courses is surprisingly consistent

• 77% of all (1,680) institutions reporting that the tuition charges are always the same for both distance education and on–campus courses.

• There is a strong institutional effect —as 28% of public 4 year institutions report variable tuition charges for courses, sometimes higher, and sometimes lower.
