An estimated 54,470 different courses were offered in 97-98, with the majority (about 35,550) being undergraduate college level credit-granting courses.
The remainder of the credit-granting courses (14,140) were at the graduate first-professional level.
Forecasts of the new distance education being targeted at retraining, and second professional level is still to be realized.
